QI GONG / CHI GONG
In our Qi Gong classes, we begin by warming up our body by moving every part in all directions, first individually and then in a coordinated manner. I believe that being aware of how to move a part of the body allows us to be conscious of it. Through self-awareness, we can choose to relax or tense up any part of our body. Deep relaxation is highly beneficial for both physical and mental health.
In Qi Gong, many of the movements aim to maintain healthy muscles and organs. We learn to balance our body while moving freely in space. While balancing, we learn to use and strengthen the appropriate muscles for the task at hand and allow the body to align itself through relaxation.
We learn postures from various Qi Gong forms such as BaDuanJin, DaoYinYang ShengGong, NeiYangGong, Dragon's Way, ShiBaShi, Lohan, the five Animal Wudang, the six Healing Sounds, and many more.
