TAI CHI SWORD

In our Tai Ji Sword Play classes, we focus on the art of balancing the sword with our body, moving as one with effortless ease. Using force with an added weight can strain our joints and repeated poor movements can have negative consequences.

That's why we train ourselves to listen to the sword, feel its movements in space, and understand its relationship with gravity. It's like having a relaxed partner - we listen, follow, and when possible, turn the situation to our advantage without projecting or hesitating. We learn this through our partner set.

In addition to the partner set, we also learn a solo set, which builds our confidence for FreePlay with the sword.

Classes are held every Thursday during the odd weeks of the month.
